2019 International Innovation Scorecard

What did Thailand do right?

Thailand has relatively low corporate and individual marginal tax rates and ranks well above similarly-sized countries in the ease of starting a business. Also, the nation boasts access to improved drinking water sources for the vast majority of its population.

What can Thailand do better?

Thailand could lay legal groundwork and support self-driving vehicle development, an area where the country currently lags behind almost every other nation on the Scorecard. The country can increase its proportion of highly-skilled workers and dramatically increase its R&D spending, which is currently just 0.60 percent of its GDP.

Alexis Ohanian: Studying this is 'the most valuable thing you can do for your career'



If Reddit and Initialized Capital co-founder Alexis Ohanian could give his 20-year-old self one piece of advice, it would be to stick with computer science.
Bill Gates and Melinda Gates agree. As Melinda said in 2017 during Computer Science Education Week, computer literacy is an "essential skill" and computer science has the power to change the world: "The more we encourage different kinds of people to get interested in technology the better that future will be."
